Bovikalc Calcium Bolus from Boehringer Ingelheim provides fast and extended support of blood calcium levels in freshening dairy cows. These boluses deliver 2 essential types of calcium to fresh cows when they need it most: calcium chloride is available immediately, and calcium sulfate provides sustained release of calcium. Additionally, the 2-bolus protocol administered at calving and then again 12 – 24 hours later, can make all the difference, especially in second-lactation-or-greater cows. Dissolves completely just 30 minutes after reaching the rumen, and its fat coating makes administration easier and safer for both workers and fresh cows. Even herds on a quality anionic-salts program, to help reduce cases of subclinical hypocalcemia, can benefit from the oral calcium supplementation that Bovikalc boluses deliver.
